Announcing Volume 40

2025-03-31

In addition to twenty-five previously unpublished letters by Joy Davidman and the typescript of a manuscript edited by Owen Barfield, Volume 40 takes a second—and unprecedentedly deep—look at the popular perspective that C.S. Lewis was not a scholar of Shakespeare. Additionally, in our open-access articles, readers will find two related but fresh looks at Lewis’s approach to Christian spiritual formation, further exploration of the marginal notes Lewis made in volumes of his personal library, reviews of recent books and films, and remembrances of dear colleagues whose scholarship and advocacy around these authors contributed to their current prominence and influence.

To access Volume 40, you can purchase an individual or institutional digital subscription, or you can buy a print copy.

Thank you for supporting VII so that we can continue to publish new scholarship on the seven authors archived at the Marion E. Wade Center.
