Author Biographies

  • Marjorie Lamp Mead, Marion E. Wade Center

    Marjorie Lamp Mead is Executive Editor of VII: Journal of the Marion E. Wade Center, the annual journal published by the Wade Center on its seven authors, and the Associate Director of the Marion E. Wade Center. She has held varied positions at the Wade Center since coming to work at the collection in 1977 soon after receiving her B.A. in English Literature from Wheaton College (’74), where she studied under Clyde S. Kilby.  She served as interim director in the years between Dr. Kilby and Lyle Dorsett, and between Dr. Dorsett and Director Christopher Mitchell. She speaks on the authors locally and around the country, as well as overseas, and maintains numerous connections with individuals and organizations, providing continuity with the early development of the Wade Center.

    Marjorie Mead holds an M.A. in Biblical and Theological Studies from Wheaton College; her thesis topic was Making Sense of the Universe: Dorothy L. Sayers and the Way of the Intellect. Her published works include: A Reader’s Guide Through the Wardrobe (2005) and A Reader’s Guide to Caspian (2008) (both co-authored with Leland Ryken); C.S. Lewis: Letters to Children (1985) (co-edited with Lyle Dorsett; reissued by Simon & Schuster, 1995); and Brothers and Friends: The Diaries of Major Warren Hamilton Lewis (1982) (co-edited with Clyde S. Kilby; 1988); as well as numerous articles, encyclopedia entries, and chapters of books regarding the Wade authors, including “Generosity and Courtesy: Dorothy L. Sayers as Friend” and “Rejoicing in Truth: Dorothy L. Sayers and the ‘Good of the Intellect.’”

  • Kendra Langdon Juskus, Marion E. Wade Center

    Starting in 2011, Kendra Langdon Juskus served the Wade Center in various editorial and administrative positions before moving out of state in 2015. Thanks to advances in remote work technology, she returned to the Wade, virtually, in 2020 as the contract editor of VII: Journal of the Marion E. Wade Center. In this role she manages the submissions and publication process of VII, collaborating with authors, peer reviewers, and the VII staff to bring fresh scholarship on the Wade authors to both new and established generations of scholars and casual readers. 

    Kendra holds a Bachelor of Arts in English - Creative Writing from Wheaton College and a Master of Fine Arts in Writing (Poetry) from Spalding University. In addition to her work at VII, she is a freelance writer and editor, working on anything from public school health care white papers to books on parenting. Her poetry has been published in RHINORuminateThe Christian Century, and other journals, and she was the recipient of the 2019 Bea Gonzalez Prize for Poetry from Stone Canoe. 

    Kendra lives with her husband, their two sons, and a guinea pig in Princeton, New Jersey, where she enjoys reading, gardening, serving at church, gathering with friends, and hiking the beautiful trails that defy Jersey’s reputation as the armpit of America.
