Author Biography

  • Harry Lee Poe, Union University

    Harry Lee Poe has taught at Bethel Seminary, The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Union University where he is Charles Colson Professor of Faith and Culture (emeritus). While completing his PhD at Southern Seminary, he also undertook research on the English Puritans at Regent’s Park College, Oxford. He has published twenty books, contributed chapters to twenty-five edited volumes, and written over three-hundred articles, review essays, and columns that deal with the intersection of the gospel and culture. He served as program director for the C.S. Lewis Summer Institute from 1999 through 2006. He founded the Inklings Fellowship in 2001 and directs its annual Inklings Weekend in Montreat and triennial Inklings Week in Oxford. His books on C.S. Lewis and the Inklings include C.S. Lewis Remembered, The Inklings of Oxford, Becoming C.S. Lewis, The Making of C.S. Lewis, and The Completion of C.S. Lewis. A popular speaker, Poe has been guest lecturer and speaker at hundreds of churches, universities, seminaries, libraries, and other cultural venues in North America, Europe, Africa, and Asia.
