Giovanni Carmine Costabile (MPhil) is an Italian PhD student, translator, writer, and teacher. He presents at conferences in Italy and abroad and has published in several international academic journals and volumes. He is the author of the monograph The Mirror of Desire Unbidden: Retrieving the Imago Dei in Tolkien and Late Medieval English Literature (Peter Lang, 2024) and of a commentary on Tolkien’s essay On Fairy-stories (The Road to Fair Elfland, 2nd edition Legendaria, 2024). He previously published another monograph on Tolkien (Oltre le Mura del Mondo, 2018), and conducted authorized research in the Tolkien Archive, Oxford. He has translated fourteen volumes.
